This Refund Policy applies to paid ClanIt subscriptions. It forms part of our Terms and Conditions at clanit.app/terms, and Section 17 and Section 18 of those terms apply alongside it.
Paddle is the merchant of record for every ClanIt subscription. Paddle takes your payment, issues your invoice, and decides refund requests. Contact Paddle using the details on your invoice or receipt, or through the customer portal reached from Change Subscription in the app.
1Who sells your subscription
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle ("Paddle"). Paddle is the merchant of record for all our orders: Paddle sells the subscription to you, takes your payment, collects any applicable tax, issues your invoice or receipt, and handles renewals, cancellations, and refunds. Paddle's buyer terms, presented at checkout, apply to your purchase.
2Free trial
Each paid tier is offered with a free trial for new subscribers, of the length shown on the account page at clanit.app/account. You are not charged during the trial. If you cancel before the trial ends, nothing is charged. The trial is offered once per account for the life of the account; a later subscription from the same account starts without one.
3Cancelling
You can cancel at any time in Paddle's customer portal, reached from Change Subscription in the app. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period you have already paid for, and you keep your paid tier until then. Cancelling stops future charges; it does not by itself refund the current period. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. Requesting deletion of your ClanIt account does: we schedule your subscription to cancel with Paddle at the end of the billing period you have already paid for, so nothing further is charged and you keep your paid tier until then. If you reinstate your account within the 14 day window, you can reverse that scheduled cancellation in Paddle's customer portal, reached from Change Subscription in the app. When the deletion executes at the end of the window, any subscription still live is cancelled immediately.
4Requesting a refund
Refund requests are made to Paddle, not to us. Contact Paddle using the details on your invoice or receipt, or through the customer portal. Paddle decides refund requests under its own refund policy and this one. We do not decide refunds, and we send Paddle no personal information about you or your use of the Service to inform its decision.
Our policy, which Paddle applies on our behalf, is that a refund is given where a charge was made in error, where you were charged after cancelling, or where the paid service was unavailable to you for a substantial part of the period charged. A refund is not normally given for a period you have already used, for a renewal you did not cancel in time, or because you no longer need the service.
5Your statutory rights
Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights as a consumer, including any right to cancel within a cooling off period under the law of the country in which you live, to the extent that right applies to a digital service you have asked to begin immediately.
6What happens after a refund
If a refund is granted, the subscription it relates to ends and your account moves to the free tier. If the content you own exceeds the free tier limits, the 14 day cooling off window described in Section 17 of the Terms and Conditions applies: your non primary clans become read only, and if you have not brought your account within limits or subscribed again by the end of the window, the content over the limit is permanently deleted. Your account, your Primary clan, your devices, the text of your notes, and your ability to export your data are never removed by this process.
